| Objectives |

This course provides the necessary knowledge to apply and interpret SEC market risk disclosure requirements. Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
·1 Describe the basic components of a SEC market risk disclosure for both derivative financial instruments and commodity instruments.
·2 Prepare a qualitative disclosure of market risk as required by the SEC.
·3 Prepare a quantitative disclosure of market risk using the three alternative methods as
required by the SEC.
·4 Contrast the information reported under each alternative method through the analysis of an example.
·5 Interpret market risk disclosures.
Exercises are suggested as you are progressing throughout this course, allowing you to assess your level of understanding of a particular subject. A case study examining a simplified situation will exemplify the process that must be followed to compute an SEC market risk disclosure.
